Ford Transit Proving its Worth

Ford Transit

Showing class leading characteristics with its current makeover

Ford transit is among van category of the company and can be truly called a Ford icon. The new upgrade has made it more suitable as a load and passenger carrier which can be trusted with every aspect and is a better choice among rivals. What is kept at the important side is its economy with all the features still there in the cabin and making no compromise in its capacity and comfort.

There is a long list of variations that can be achieved in its present state demonstrating its flexibility according to the need. There is a major criticism this van line-up is facing on its styling, but as being a practical vehicle this can be ignored.

When buying a van the interior comfort and durability with a touch of modern layout and functions combined with the most important element…its engine. Without a powerful engine a transport of this category cannot survive for long.

Engines Accompanying the Vehicle

There are three engine variants offered in the Transit with different outputs offering best deals in the van category. Two-tonne panel vans and chassis cabs come with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine with a six-speed manual gearbox and three power outputs.

Next is the 2.0-litre tank with a smaller capacity again with three power options. Then there is a smaller category of Connect and Courier which is preferred with a 1.5-litre diesel unit but they can also be purchased with a 1.0-liter.

Interior Cabin is more Car-like

This compliment is not wrong for Ford Transit as any users can support the statement. The dashboard, steering wheel, audio controls and many other types of switch-gear are lifted straight from its passenger car side which is a plus point. The interior gives comfortable seats for a pleasant ride and as a load carrier plenty of space with reliability and strong build-up.

The refinement in its suspension makes sure the inside atmosphere is quite. The ride is surprisingly smooth for a van and there is no road or wind noise transmitted inside. It cannot be said that the steering is as much supporting as it can be, but the responses are steady and reasonably accurate.

Handling and Safety

Transit is not behind in both these sides. As it is a van, the body roll is present but there is no issue of loosing balance during that period. Due to its gradual slant the safety remains intact and you know what to do when this happens. The passenger and load carrier is easy to drive in any body style and engine power it is. Safety area has been given four star rating for frontal crash and five star rating for side collapse by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s crash tests. The list ensuring safety of its occupiers is very impressive especially when it is a van you are talking about.

Trailer stability control, roll stability control, traction control, and standard rear-view camera are all handy tools for the driver helping out in any unwanted situation. Another enthralling offer is of a crosswind-compensating stabilization which forwards the vehicle in the most unpleasant weather.
