The Charity Auction for a new Ford Transit was outbid by President George Jacobs himself<\/h2>\n

What is it?<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s an act of charity by one of the most charitable or the worst businessman, George Jacobs, President of Chicago-based Windy City Limousine. There was an auction for new Ford Transit van, powered by frugal Ford Transit diesel engine.<\/a><\/strong> Some people are saying that George has lost his mind as he had been bidding high for a Ford van.<\/p>\n

Why George did it?<\/h3>\n

It doesn\u2019t matter what others say, I wanted to support the Howard Berkman Memorial Fund and for that, I kept on bidding because I didn\u2019t think enough money was raised.<\/p>\n

On November 9, Jacobs purchased this van and once the bidding stalled out at $45,000, he made a higher bid. It was that moment when he started outbidding himself in $500 increment until he reached the $48,000 mark.<\/p>\n

Who auctioned this van?<\/h3>\n

For the memorial fund, the National Limousine Association<\/a><\/strong> auctioned the van. This fund is the humanitarian and leading charity arm of the limo industry. To causes like the City of Hope, American Cancer Society and the Harold Berkman Memorial Fund he has contributed $750,000 ever since it was founded in 1996.<\/p>\n

Jacobs also said that \u201ceverything in my life I got from the limousine industry, and when you get a chance to donate back to the same industry, you should do it, that\u2019s how I feel.\u201d<\/p>\n

What\u2019s so special about all this?<\/h3>\n

The donation of 15-passenger, high-roof Transit vans by the Ford Motor Company to the auction. All these vans will go to the Windy City Limousine\u2019s fleet of vehicles.<\/p>\n

Among them is the first-ever Ford Transit sold in America\u00a0earlier this year Jacobs bought that van from the livery company to which it was first sold.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
