200 New Ford Transit Custom Vans Join National Grid Fleet

National Grid has equipped its maintenance fleet with 200 Ford Transit Custom vans for maintaining the gas supply network

 

The fully equipped Ford Transit Custom Econetic, powered by the 2.2-litre TDCi Dagenham diesel engine with 98bhp are now fully active all the way through the National Grid fleet, capable of racking systems, first aid kit and special lighting. These Transit Custom vans are used for emergency call-outs and everyday by engineers and maintenance men including repair of gas metering equipment.

 

 

Sales manager of Ford direct, Stephen Gafson said that the new Transit Custom is ideally fit to its role with National Grid and financially it clearly makes sense to the company as Ford is long associated with National Grid and this relationship will continue.

In the last year, Ford Transit Custom van has achieved almost 15 awards on commercial vehicles. Ford Transit courier is the next model joining the Transit Custom and Transit Connect fleet. Ford Transit is a flexible commercial vehicle that offers an extreme level of durability and practicality with lots of models.
