Ford Transit Courier Joins Transit Range with EcoBoost engines

Ford Transit Courier

Fourth and final generation joins the Transit range with new look and EcoBoost engines

Ford Transit courier is the fourth generation of the most modern mini Transits in the UK and the new model joins the Transit line-up with the new look and extra efficient Ford Transit engines with EcoBoost technology.

It is a small, light commercial van on the Transit line-up and slotting it into the similar market of other smaller Ford vans. It will steal sales from other vans like French Peugeot Bipper, Citroen Nemo, and Fiat Fiorino. It has targets like single man operations and small medium enterprises. It will be larger and considerably more practical van on the tiny vans. The all new Courier has a payload of 660kgs and it offers a load space of around 2.4-cubic metres.

Other shapes and body types

The Courier, as well as a standard van, it’s additionally available as a 5-seater passenger van called Transit Kombi with a three seats row behind the driver and further three on the back that may fold and tumble in a 60:40 break up to increase the cargo space. Useful, smartly designed and good to carry loads, the Courier is a pleasant entry to the Transit family that wears the badge of EcoBoost technology as well.

Car like interior

An eye-catching, smartly-designed cabin is one of the Courier’s true strengths after the excellent performers, the EcoBoost engines. So much of the dashboard, instrument panel, and switchgear is familiar to the Ford passenger cars like the Ford B-Max and the Fiesta and it all feels luxury and long lasting.

Despite the fact that the steering wheel adjustment is limited but it’s still very easy to make a cozy riding function and there’s lots of leg room, even for very tall drivers. A deep enough utility slot between the two front seats has enough place for clipboards and laptops or tablets along with the cup holders. All these facilities are offered to facilitate the small business operations.

Available equipment level

Two equipment levels are offered on the standard models, Base, and Advance. The base or standard model comes with DAB radio, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a combined smartphone holder and docking slots on top of the dashboard, so it’s easier to use the sat-nav for your mobile phone if necessary.

In the customised vans, the smartphone holder has been replaced with the digital monitor that includes Ford’s SYNC smartphone connectivity system to support multiple apps on your smartphone. In addition, they get a CD player, heated mirrors and below seat storage, together with a valuable overhead storage shelf.

Engine options available

Three engines are offered: a 1.5-litre diesel engine that cranks out around 74bhp and a 1.6-litre diesel engine that generates 94bhp. On the petrol engines line-up the all new courier has been powered by a 99bhp 1.0-litre three-cylinder EcoBoost petrol engine which is also available in many cars with class-leading performance and fuel economy.

The EcoBoost is expected to save around five percent on the road but according to the experts, it is a shame for Ford that such a nice engine in force will only save 5 percent. However, the expectations were very high in this engine, but it is still a fine alternative old engine.
