A big achievement of Ford Transit and Transit Connect after brilliant performance in severe and torturous winter conditions

After giving Van endurance test in Finland, the most gruelling van performance tests of the universe, the smarter and tough Ford Transit engine and Ford Transit Connect Engine Vans have proved why they are the best vans in their line-up.

The twin Ford vans, Ford Transit and the Transit Connect were given the challenge to show off under heavy pressure in the challenging Arctic Van Test that took place in coldish Finland for five days. The temperature there was -50 degree Celsius, where only ice can exist.

Ford Transit Engine Testing

The expectations for the best performance were high from both the Transit Vans. The hearts of the spectators were beating at the high pace and figures were crossed to the get the testing results.

The fuel efficiency, handling abilities and load carrying were amongst the other tests which were keenly observed over the slaloms across a frozen airfield and frightening drives on the ice-covered and slippery road of almost 700 kilometres. Not only this, both Ford Vans were left outside in the cold in windy and -50 Celsius overnight temperatures to check whether the Ford Transit and Ford Transit Connect engines and heating could function flawlessly the day after.

What Paul Randle, Ford Europe’s Line Director Said?

The Line Director of Ford Europe was relaxed and was confident that the Transit Vans will surely give the best performance.

He said, “Every one of our new Ford Transits is tested in the world’s toughest climates and driving conditions long before launch, so they are prepared for just this kind of challenge. Our customers depend on their Transits to get the job done, and we have made sure they are ready for work, whatever the weather.”

What was the Result?

The results were tested from the expert drivers from six European commercial vehicle magazines who drove the Ford Vans noticing all the testing aspects. What they revealed was like what the Ford had never smelled in the 23-year event history.

The Ford Transit and Transit Connect vans were crowned for the first double victory. From the testing parameters, the challenge also tested engine starting, heating and demister operations right after the day when the both Vans were left in the torturing cold temperature.

Ford Transit Vans are the Winners

In the end, the results at Arctic Van Test revealed that the Ford vans were the winners and ranked at the top or joint-top in 9 out of 13 categories against the strong rival models from Mercedes Vauxhall and the VW. The handling of Ford Transit Connect engine and stability was also impressive. That’s why the judges ranked it top or joint-top in seven categories against Citroen Renault and VW.
