Smart EcoBlue Fuel system with more power outputs from 2.0-litre diesel engine
Ford has revealed its Transit and Transit Custom panel vans having the new Ford Engines EcoBlue Fuel system with the capacity of 2.0-litre. The EcoBlue unit has increased the fuel efficiency up to 13% as compared to the previous 2.2-litre TDCi engine having 157g/km CO2 emission.
The new clean diesel technology has enabled ultra-low emission in line having stringent Euro 6 standards with 55% reduction in NOx emission as compared to the Euro 5 standards.
What is new in EcoBlue Ford Transit Engine?
There are excellent features including friction-reduction inside the Ford Transit engine. Below are the listed features of Ford Transit EcoBlue engine.
- Small-diameter crankshaft bearings
- Low-inertia turbocharger made from the materials which are designed to run at high temperatures
- High-pressure fuel injection system with more responsiveness and low noise
- Belt-in-oil design for camshaft and oil pump drive belt
- Clockwise airflow for cylinders one and two, and anti-clockwise for three and four
- Offset crankshaft by 10mm for reduced piston side-load which reduces rubbing against cylinder walls
Moreover, the 2.0-litre Ford Transit EcoBlue engine offers low-end torque with 20% more pulling power at 1250rpm compared with the previous 2.2-litre TDCi diesel engine.
Updated Gearbox
The Ford Transit and Transit Custom variants have the automatic gearboxes with a new “Selectshift” gear changing technology. This technology is more responsive and efficient as compared to the manual gearbox. It also allows manual shifting on the gearstick.

Stability control system is updated in the new Transit variants like side wind stabilisation which enables breaks on one side to reduce the crosswind effect. The braking stability is also empowered by the Curve Control and Roll Stability features.
