The giant auto manufacturer Ford is bringing the new Transit Van into the market for sale this summer, and in order to accomplish that it has made some major expansions in the facility along with massive reengineering to have the new Transit production running smooth, a heavy investment of $1.1 billion and 2,000 new employees will make it happen. The stamping plant has got an extension of 437,000 sq-ft and paint shop 78,000 sq-ft, now capable of manufacturing Regular, Super and Crew Cab versions of F-150 pickup trucks in addition to the new Transit.

 

It doesn’t matter what kind of business or customer you are, this latest generation of Transit will pamper all your needs with its flexibility in customisation with two wheelbases, three roof heights and three body lengths offered in van, wagon, chassis can and cutaway body styles.

 

 

 

This new commercial van has a 3.7 litre V6 engine as standard but there is a range of F-150 engines also available in more economical 3.2 litre Power Stroke diesel and a 3.5 litre EcoBoost mill, all of them are backed by a six-speed automatic transmission.

 
The high-roof Transit offers practicality like no other in its class, having said that, if 6 feet 8 inches tall person stands in cargo area, the 81.5 inches of maximum interior cargo height will provide him enough headroom to stand upright. The maximum towing capacity of this van is 7,600 pounds whereas the payload capacity is 4,650 pounds max and the cargo volume it offers is 13,394 litres.
